After years of searching for a waterfront house site, we found a lot this fall on Mascoma Lake, very near our current house. This blog will follow the progress of our new timberframe house construction this year. Please enjoy and share our excitement. You can click on any picture for a larger view.

Framing the basement

Excited to return from our travels to find so much progress on framing the first floor (basement) which will contain a rec room, 3 small bedrooms, 2.5 baths, Jack's shop and model railroad emporium (he hopes). The first picture is looking up at the house from near the lake. The second is looking at the window of Jack's shop, and the last is a closer view of the rec room wall. For you carpenters, these are 2x10 studs to give maximum insulation and support the timberframe main floor which will be placed on top. Despite several storms, we have had good weather for this time of year, so the work is proceding well.
