After years of searching for a waterfront house site, we found a lot this fall on Mascoma Lake, very near our current house. This blog will follow the progress of our new timberframe house construction this year. Please enjoy and share our excitement. You can click on any picture for a larger view.

First floor decking in place

Framing of the basement is complete, and the main floor decking is being applied. The first picture is an overall view of the site from above, the secondshows Deb standing in the greatroom! Very exciting today to walk around that first floor deck and imagine the views from the main level. The third picture shows the site viewed uphill from the lake with the basement boxed in, and the 4th picture is a view inside the baseement showing the ceiling in place. The last picture taken from our beach shows that the ice is melting, all the bobhouses are off the ice, and spring is in the air. Currently the local roads are posted for heavy equipment so construction is in a short lull, but should get started soon. The timberframe is going to be cut this week! Very exciting.
